The Dog Chaser Ultrasonic Repeller deters aggressive dogs with a high-frequency sound (35,000–45,000Hz) that dogs find uncomfortable but humans can't hear — effective up to 50 feet without contact, sprays, or harm to the animal. Compact enough for a pocket or keychain, it's built for walkers, joggers, cyclists, and anyone who encounters stray or aggressive dogs on a regular basis.

  • Compact and portable: 5½" x 2¼" x 1⅛", 3.5 oz — fits in a pocket or clips to a keychain

The training mode makes this useful beyond self-defense — pet owners use it to discourage barking, jumping, and destructive behavior without shock or physical correction. Aim at the dog and press the button; most dogs stop the behavior and move away from the sound source. The 50-foot range gives you enough distance to deter a charging dog before it closes the gap.

How does the ultrasonic dog chaser compare to pepper spray for dogs?

The ultrasonic chaser works at greater range — up to 50 feet versus 10–15 feet for most dog pepper sprays — and leaves no residue on you, your clothing, or the dog. It's the better choice for frequent use in areas with loose dogs, like regular walking or cycling routes. Dog pepper spray is the stronger deterrent for a dog that's already committed to an attack and isn't responding to sound. For maximum coverage, some walkers carry both: the ultrasonic chaser for early deterrence at distance and a dog pepper spray as a backup for close contact.

Will this work on all dogs?

Most dogs respond to the ultrasonic frequency by stopping, retreating, or losing interest in approaching. Dogs that are deaf or have significant hearing loss won't respond to the sound. Working dogs, highly trained attack dogs, or dogs in a full predatory drive may also be less responsive. For those situations, dog pepper spray or a stun baton with dog deterrent function provides a physical deterrent as a backup option.
