Shipping Restrictions on Self Defense Products
Last Updated: July 2026
TBOTECH ships self-defense products to customers across the United States. Most products ship without restriction to all 50 states. Some states have laws governing who may legally possess certain items — where those restrictions exist, we note them below. Compliance with your state and local laws is your responsibility as the buyer. If you have questions about what's legal in your area, check our state law resource pages or consult local law enforcement.
Stun Guns, TASERs, and Stun Batons
We ship stun guns, TASER devices, and stun batons to all states except Hawaii. Note the following state-specific requirements:
- Hawaii: Hawaii law requires electronic weapons to be purchased through a county-licensed local dealer. We cannot ship stun devices to Hawaii addresses. See our Hawaii stun gun laws page for details on what we can ship to Hawaii.
- Massachusetts: A valid License to Carry (LTC) is required to legally possess a stun gun in Massachusetts. An FID card is not sufficient. Compliance is the buyer's responsibility. See our Massachusetts stun gun laws page for full details.
- Illinois: A valid Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card is required to legally possess a stun gun in Illinois. Compliance is the buyer's responsibility. See our Illinois stun gun laws page for full details.
- Wisconsin: Stun guns may be legally possessed in your home without a permit. Public carry requires a valid Wisconsin Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license. Compliance is the buyer's responsibility. See our Wisconsin stun gun laws page for full details.
- Rhode Island: Stun gun ownership is legal following a 2022 federal court ruling striking down the state's ban. Public carry rules remain unsettled pending legislative action. See our Rhode Island stun gun laws page for current details.
Pepper Spray and Defensive Sprays
- New York: Standard pepper sprays cannot be shipped to civilian addresses in New York State. New York residents may only purchase defensive sprays in person from a licensed firearms dealer or registered pharmacist. We can legally ship dog pepper spray and bear pepper spray to any New York address.
- Massachusetts: Pepper sprays and defensive gels for human use can only be sold through authorized local firearms dealers in Massachusetts. We cannot ship human-use pepper sprays to Massachusetts addresses.
- Wisconsin: Wisconsin law restricts civilian pepper spray to canisters with a maximum 10% OC concentration, weight between 15–60 grams, an integrated safety mechanism, and effective range of 6–20 feet. Camouflaged spray designs are prohibited. All TBOTECH orders shipping to Wisconsin are reviewed for compliance with these requirements.
