Dog Repellent

A dog repellent is used to stop a dog from beginning or continuing an attack. A very popular form of protection against canine attacks is the Mace Muzzle pepper spray.

This pepper spray, specifically formulated for dogs, has been used numerous times in attacking dog situations.

Working the same way as other pepper sprays, this dog spray inflames the breathing tissues and dilates the capillaries of the eyes. The dog can not see and has a very hard time breathing until the effect wears off. The canine has no other option but to retreat; allowing you time to get away. The dog pepper spray is also EPA approved.

Another form of warding off attacking dogs is to use an electrical device called the ultrasonic dog chaser. This dog repeller is activated by pressing a button while pointing it at the attacking dog. An ultrasonic sound is emitted from the dog chaser that is extremely irritating to dogs.

The frequency range of this ultrasonic dog repeller is 20,000Hz - 25,000Hz and has a decibel rating of 135db. Although this sound is effective against canines, it is inaudible to humans. The sound is too high pitched for most of us humans to hear. This dog repeller is the most humane way of deterring an attack and poses no threat to you or the animal.
