TASER recommends keeping spare cartridges stocked so your device is never without full projection capability. Once both cartridges are deployed the 7 CQ functions only as a contact stun gun until reloaded.

How do the two cartridge bays work on the TASER 7 CQ?

The TASER 7 CQ has two cartridge bays — Bay 1 and Bay 2 — which is what gives it dual-shot capability without manual reloading. The first trigger pull fires Bay 1. If a second shot is needed, the second trigger pull fires Bay 2 immediately. Each bay holds one cartridge. This 2-pack replaces both bays simultaneously, restoring full dual-shot capability in one reload. After both cartridges are spent, the device must be reloaded before it can fire probes again.

Are there training cartridges available for the TASER 7 CQ?

These are live cartridges intended for self-defense use — not training cartridges. Training cartridges for the TASER 7 CQ are a separate product sold directly through Axon and are typically available to law enforcement and certified trainers. For civilian practice, Axon recommends using the conductive practice target included with the device rather than firing live cartridges, as each live cartridge is single-use and cannot be recovered after firing.
