How does a door stop alarm work?

The sensitivity setting controls the threshold — how far the plate must be pressed before activation. On high sensitivity the alarm triggers with less pressure; on low sensitivity more force is required before the alarm sounds. The wedge shape means door pressure also drives the base harder into the floor, increasing resistance as more force is applied. The alarm continues sounding until the door pressure is released and the unit is switched off and reset.

Will this work on all doors?

The door stop alarm works only on inward-opening doors — the wedge mechanism requires the door to open toward the wedge to create resistance and activate the pressure sensor. Outward-opening doors, sliding doors, and pocket doors are not compatible. Most interior residential doors, hotel room doors, and apartment entry doors open inward, making this compatible with the most common entry points where travel and home security is needed.
