The strobe mode is the most effective for self-defense disorientation — rapid flashing at this lumen output disrupts vision and balance faster than a steady beam. When using the high beam for defense, aim directly at the attacker's eyes from 5–15 feet. The effect is involuntary and temporary — pupil contraction causes immediate loss of clear vision giving you time to escape. Do not look directly into the beam.
