Pepper Shot 2 oz Stream Spray Features and Specs

  • 1.2% Major Capsaicinoids: 8.5% OC derived from 2,000,000 SHU — more effective than most competing pepper sprays
  • Stream delivery: Concentrated line for precise targeting — wind-resistant and effective for outdoor carry
  • 8–10 foot range
  • 6–10 one-second bursts
  • Optional leatherette holster with belt clip: Sold separately for belt carry
  • UV identifying dye: Residue visible under black light for attacker identification
  • 36-month shelf life
  • Dimensions: 4⅛" x 1⅜"
  • Made in the USA

The 2 oz size with optional belt holster is the standard format for home and personal carry where a keychain canister is too small but a 4 oz canister is more than needed. It stores in a kitchen drawer, bedside table, or bag without taking up space, and the belt holster option makes it practical for outdoor carry on a hike or patrol. For buyers who want all three locations covered — home, vehicle, and keychain — the Pepper Shot Tri-Pack bundles three canisters at one price.

What is OC pepper spray?

OC stands for oleoresin capsicum — the naturally-derived active ingredient extracted from chili peppers that produces the burning, eye-closing, and respiratory effects on contact. OC is what virtually all modern pepper sprays use as the active ingredient, including this one. It's different from the CN tear gas formulas older "Mace"-branded products historically used — OC works through natural capsaicin irritation rather than a synthetic chemical agent, and it's the standard active ingredient across nearly every pepper spray sold today, regardless of brand.

Is OC spray the same thing as pepper spray?

Yes — "pepper spray" is the general category name, and OC (oleoresin capsicum) is the specific active ingredient that essentially all current pepper sprays use to produce that effect. When a product's packaging says "OC spray" or lists an OC percentage, it's describing the formula inside a pepper spray, not a different product. The 8.5% OC concentration in this spray, combined with the 1.2% Major Capsaicinoids rating, is what determines its actual strength — OC percentage alone doesn't tell the full story, since MC percentage measures the concentration of the specific compounds that cause the burning response.
