How do you operate the Lil Guy stun gun?
The safety switch has three positions. Slide it down and the device is fully off — safe to carry without accidental activation. Slide it to the middle position and the 100-lumen flashlight turns on independently. Slide it to the up position and the stun function is armed — press the trigger button and the electrical discharge activates through the metal probes. To charge, fold out the built-in prongs from the base and plug directly into a standard wall outlet. No cord required.
Is the Lil Guy stun gun legal to carry?
Stun gun laws vary by state and municipality. Most states permit civilian ownership and carry for self-defense. Some states and cities have restrictions — always verify your local laws before purchasing or carrying. When in doubt, check with your local law enforcement or an attorney.
How does the Lil Guy compare to the Fang Keychain?
Both are palm-sized stun guns with flashlights, but they're built around different carry methods. The Fang attaches to a keyring and is slightly smaller at under 3 inches — it's designed to be on your keys and in your hand when you walk to your car. The Lil Guy is a bit larger at 3.75 inches and carries in a belt holster or pocket. The Fang's advantage is higher output at 60M volts and 4.8 milliamps vs. the Lil Guy's 60M volts and 4.4 milliamps, plus an LED battery indicator. If keychain carry matters, the Fang wins. If you want the simplest possible charging and a belt holster option, the Lil Guy is the easier device to maintain.
When is a palm-sized stun gun not enough?
A stun gun this small is a contact weapon with limited reach — you need to be within arm's length. If your concern is being approached from a distance, a lipstick pepper spray gives you 8-10 feet of range and fits in the same purse or pocket. If you want more reach with a stun device, a disguised stun gun in a cane or umbrella form provides 32-56 inches of contact distance. The Lil Guy is built for the moment someone is already too close — grabbed, cornered, or blocked from leaving.
