Will this stop a teenager from sneaking out?

The deactivation key is the critical feature here: without it, there's no way to open the window quietly. A teenager who knows the alarm is installed and that you hold the only key has no silent exit. Mount it on bedroom windows and any exterior door they could access. How does the deactivation key work?

The deactivation key is a small physical key that inserts into the alarm unit. When inserted before opening, it suppresses the alarm so you can open the door or window normally. Remove the key and the alarm is active again. The alarm sounds until the key is inserted or the door or window is closed — there is no way to silence it without the key. Keep the key somewhere your child cannot access it.
