This is a story about how effective hidden cameras can be. Police in DerbyShire England set up hidden cameras inside a home that was being renovated. The sting was hoping to catch burglars trying to steal copper wiring that was deliberately left out for everyone to see.
You can read the whole story HERE.
The sting worked and the man was caught on hidden camera. The story brings up another problem in my mind and that is the penalty-to my way of thinking it’s a joke. He was ordered to do community time and pay a small fine. That doesn’t sound like much of a deterrent to me..
If you have somebody that’s doing something wrong in your world and want to catch them our DVR Hidden Cameras are probably the best way to do it. There are easy to set up, easy-to-use and easy to retrieve the video on a removable SD card.

In Philadelphia last week burglars broke into a home when the occupants were there, a.k.a. home invasion. When the police responded to a call regarding the matter, they found an inordinate amount of marijuana. It seems the homeowner was dealing drugs to local university students.
You can read the whole story HERE.
More often than not home invasions are much more than just bad guys breaking into a home if there’s usually some other ulterior motive involved. Like drugs.
Be that as it may, there are a few things you can do to prevent a home invasion. The first is to always use your peephole to make sure you know who is at your front door before you let them in.
If the bad guys do happen to get in, of the best things you can do to get them out (assuming they are unarmed) is to give them a shot in the face with one of the great Mace Pepper Sprays. There is a good variety of sizes and prices to choose from.

Here’s a story about how burglaries have increased in South Wales. That caused police to issue a warning to residents. Police noted that burglars notice open windows in warmer weather and prey upon victims who don’t lock their front doors or windows. They noted that 70% of the burglaries happened through unlocked doors and windows.

HERE.
The story went on to say”Simply by not leaving keys and bags in obvious places, such as by the front door, people can make life harder for criminals.”
For homeowners if they would simply lock their doors and windows they could avoid many problems associated with burglaries.
The next best thing they can do is to get a dog. But many people don’t like dogs. So the next best thing is to get the Barking Dog Alarm that makes it sound of an angry barking dog when the protected area is invaded.

Finally, finally someone is doing this. The state of Delaware is in the process of creating a separate category for the crime of home invasion. Now if we can just get the rest of the country to do it we’d be in business. Up until now the crime of home invasion has been categorized as a home burglary for both reporting purposes and for penalty purposes.
The penalties under this bill will be much more severe. Thank goodness. Finally!

But for crying out loud folks if you have a peephole in your front door always use it. See who is there before you open the door. If you don’t have a peephole it is worth it to get one because trust me, you do not want to be the victim of a home invasion.

The film on bullying called “bully” received a lot of buzz lately because of its rating. The producers intended for the film to be viewed by a large audience but because of some of the language in the movie it received an R rating. So the producers had to go back and edit out some of the language to gain a PG rating. Everyone’s happy now.
The whole intent of the movie was to show the devastating effects of the bullying has on teenagers. The movie does that very well, but as some critics have pointed out the movie is short on answers. DUH! No one has answers for bullying. The film uses a lot a hidden cameras for the footage to get realistic reactions from the kids.

Here’s an article that addresses the issue of home burglaries and how they are greatly reduced by using home alarms and home security systems.
You can read the rest of the story HERE
We have several Wireless Home Alarms that actually do two things. If someone does break into your house it acts as a burglar alarm scaring the burglar away. Secondly, it alerts neighbors and passersby that there’s a potential problem going on in your home. Most burglar alarms are at least 100 to 105 dB and more, which is plenty loud to alert your neighbors.
The 105 db Motion Detector Alarm is one of the most effective burglar alarms we have. It operates at 110° field of view up to 40 feet away. If motion is detected in that area the alarm goes off.
