Snap Anywhere Anytime with Keychain Digital Cameras
Digital cameras today are affordable and convenient to use, but even though many of them are slim enough to put inside your pocket, people still end up forgetting them and miss out on capturing unforgettable moments that come out of the blue. If you don’t want the same thing to happen to you, consider using keychain digital cameras.
What You Should Know about Keychain Digital Cameras
Keychain digital cameras are small – most of them will be no bigger than your credit card – and they do take digital photos. They’re also battery-powered just like other cameras. You should not, however, expect them to work exactly like your standard digital cameras. Here’s a brief list of what you can expect from keychain digital cameras.
Lower Image Resolution
Don’t expect photos from keychain digital cameras to compare favorably with high-end digital cameras. At best, expect your photos to be at par with photos you’ve taken using old cellular phone models.
Basically, keychain digital cameras can take small and moderately clear photos. Expect image resolution to further suffer in low light levels.
On a positive note, keychain digital cameras are generally capable of recording videos in AVI format.
Memory
It varies from one brand to another. It can be as little as 2MB of internal memory or you can have a great deal more. Either way, the key thing to remember here is that you’re relying on internal memory as keychain digital cameras are not large enough to have a compartment for external memory.
USB Transfer
Keychain digital cameras won’t make it hard for you to transfer photos to other storage devices. What you could consider a problem is the software that the camera comes with. Some of them may require you to install other programs you neither want nor need.
Other Camera Functions
Most, if not all, keychain digital cameras are equipped with a 10-second timer. What none of them can offer you, however, is a LCD screen. You will need to rely on your viewfinder to take snapshots. If you had practice with film cameras before, this won’t be much of a problem. If you grew up using digital cameras, you might need a bit of practice.
As you can see, keychain digital cameras are far from perfect. But they are very convenient to have and they do give you a chance to take snapshots in situations when you normally won’t have a camera with you. In view of that, having those photos are better than having nothing, don’t you think?
