Safety Lights-For You, Your Kids And Pets Too

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

A disproportionate number of accidents happen at night when cars can’t see kids or pets. This can all change by using some Pet Safety Lights or Kids Safety Lights.

The pet safety lights come in six colors that attach to a collar, leash or harness. They are waterproof and can be seen from as far away as a half mile. The blinking lights can be used for your kids as well so they can be seen at night. The pet safety lights use batteries that are very cheap.

The seven function LED lights can be used to mount on a bike with PVC, arm or wrist strap. They use a different set of batteries.

The safety lights are so inexpensive that you should have a set for everyone in your house that goes outdoors at night.

Simple Ways To Protect Your Children

Saturday, May 21st, 2011

The crime rate in various parts of the world in increasing by the day and criminals don’t consider the age of the person before they make their move. Most criminals find it easy to target children since most of them are not able to defend themselves. While a few criminals kidnap children and hold them to ransom, there are a few others who sexually abuse them and leave them scarred for life. Hence, it is important to teach your children the art of self defense right from a tender age.

Ensure your children do not get taken in by sweet words spoken by strangers. Ask them to stay away from strangers offering them candies for no reason. Most often than not, criminals use this ploy to lure the little ones and gain their confidence. Get them enrolled in martial arts so they learn to defend themselves when attacked unawares. Karate is the easiest form of martial arts for children to learn. Look out for a good training center with the right credentials before enrolling your child.

If you have a toddler at home, ensure they are not left unsupervised. Even when they play outside in the garden of your home, make sure there is an adult overlooking their activities so criminals are kept at bay.

Baby Monitor hidden camera

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

I received an email yesterday from a first time, mother-to-be who wanted to know if we had anything that would let her keep an eye on the new arrival.

I said, “Of course we do!”

She’s due to be a new mom in three weeks. And I could tell she had so many mixed emotions…excitement, anxiety, relief and a little fear.

I recommended to her the Baby Monitor hidden camera. A camera is hidden in the nose of a stuffed puppy which you can put in a crib, playpen or set on a shelf that lets her see and hear everything the baby does.

She was very excited to have this ability. It means while she’s running the household, she knows her baby is safe.

The Baby Monitor hidden camera is great for young children, too. Watch them while they’re playing or napping. Peace of mind is priceless.

Keeping Your Home Security System From Your Kids

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Can your home security system withstand rough handling from your curious kids?  Learn the tips to keep it safe and functional.

Kids are naturally curious creatures. It’s just their way to learn and appreciate things and parents are actually more than happy to accommodate them. However, there are times when children’s active and healthy curiosity is not always appreciated, especially if they tend to damage items around the house. And your home security system may just be on their list. To keep it safe from kids’ curious minds AND hands, here are tips you can use:

Keep the home security system out of kids’ reach
In the hands of a curious two-year old, this system will survive, no matter how well-constructed it is. Little hands always have a way to get in between metal seams and around the tiniest screws. Pretty soon, settings on your home security system will mysteriously change or the system itself will begin to malfunction.

home security systemTo keep kids’ curious minds and hands away from your home security system, have it installed at a location that is out of their reach. An active two-year-old, for example, will find it impossible to reach the gadget if it’s installed three to four feet above his reach. If it’s out of his eye level, this system may just remain safely ignored for several years.

Keep the home security system inside a cabinet
Most homeowners keep the main panel of their home security system inside a cabinet. Be careful in choosing the location for the panel and make sure it is out of reach of your kids. A sturdy wooden or steel cabinet equipped with a lock will keep curious hands and minds away. If you have older children, keep the keys to the cabinet in a place where they will not be found easily.

Familiarize them with the system
Kids are so curious they will tear or take apart things around the house just so they will understand how things work. By doing so, they often damage items, particularly electronics. In some cases, though, kids will often leave an item alone after they’ve familiarized themselves with it.

A good technique to try with older kids is to introduce them to the home security system while it is being installed. Explain what it is, how it works and why your home needs one. Once kids understand how important the system is, they will be less likely to try to take it apart or play with it.

Keep kids in mind when designing the layout for a more complicated home security system
Look for ‘kid-safe’ areas and nooks in the home where you wish your system installed. Get on your knees (crawl if you have to) so you can see the room from your child’s point of view. If you can see a component of your system and get to it from where you are, your child will, too. Try to plan the installation based on your kids’ limitations to minimize the risk that your tiny toddler will damage your expensive home security system.

Mini Spy Cameras – Which One is for You?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

If you want to keep your loved ones stay at home, you need to protect them from dangers within and without using mini spy cameras.

mini spy camWhat are Mini Spy Cameras?
Mini spy cameras work just like any ordinary digital camera. They are, however, smaller and may make use of deceptive housing for covert operation. You can use them to monitor the activities of your newly hired nanny or have them activate at night to catch burglars, vandals, and trespassers in the act.

The Different Forms of Mini Spy Cameras
Mini spy cameras come in numerous guises. It’s important to familiarize yourself with all of them in order to use the most appropriate type for every situation.

Keychain Mini Spy Cameras
This type of camera is suitable for daily, on-the-go use. Having a keychain connected to your bag, mobile phone, or just having it inside your pocket at all times is nothing out of the ordinary. Little do they know, however, is that there’s a camera within it and which you can use to capture photographic evidence whenever and wherever it’s necessary.

Even more importantly, they’re simple and quick to operate and no one will have to know that you’ve taken photos if you wish your activities to remain a secret.

Clock Radio
Here’s a stationary mini spy camera that you can place anywhere your home. It will unobtrusively record video footage of the room it’s in and you may be able to configure it to transmit real-time footage to your email. If any emergency comes up, you’ll be able to know exactly when and where it took place and send for help immediately.

Pen Camera
Here’s another item that won’t look out of place if you have it inside your bag or clipped to your shirt pocket at all times. Just one click of this pen and you’ve taken the shot you wanted!

Wired or Wireless
Spy cameras come in wired or wireless systems. Wired systems are more affordable, easier to install, but harder to conceal. Wireless systems are more expensive and require configuration but offer advanced features.

Mini Air-Purifier
Another guise commonly used for mini spy cameras are air purifiers. If you’ve long been known as a health buff then having an air-purifier in your living room won’t raise eyebrows. Even better, air purifiers are not something you have to switch on or off so there are fewer chances of people dabbling with it and accidentally finding out what it’s all about.

Placing the Clock Radio Nanny Camera in the Right Places

Monday, September 21st, 2009

A clock radio nanny camera can allow you to watch what your nanny is doing. Position it in a corner, on a stable surface, and out of anyone’s easy reach.

clock radio nanny cameraHaving a nanny to take care of your child can be a great way for you to not only relax, but to get yourself time to do other things. It can be stressful to care for a child while doing other things at the same time, so you could hire a good nanny to help you out, even with the other things that you are doing. The problem with this strategy is that you may end up hiring a substandard nanny, or one that appears professional on the outside but is actually your worst nightmare when your back is turned.

To help you watch over your nanny, you can install hidden cameras in your house. You can do this by buying small cameras that you can hook up to your computer for recording, or that can feed footage to an outside source. You may also do this by buying equipment that has hidden cameras installed in them so that you can unobtrusively monitor your nanny without her knowing about what you are doing. One such camera can be bought along with a clock radio, and you can keep this device in the room that you are watching your nanny in.

One good way to position it is to put it in a corner. This gives you a wider angle view of the room, and it will allow you to monitor all sides of the room. The disadvantage to placing the camera on one side of the room is that you may lose a lot of possible footage and space that could be important in how well you monitor the nanny. Another disadvantage is that anything on the sides of a room can be easily knocked over if they are not positioned well. Your nanny could wreck your camera if she tips the clock radio over!

This brings us to the second position. You should position this device at a height so that your nanny cannot easily nudge, move, or reach it. The clock radio should not be too high to make the clock radio itself useless. A clock radio too far from seeing will make the fact that it contains a hidden camera all the more obvious! The clock radio should not be too low so that you capture only people’s feet and have the camera nudged and moved around too often.

Third, and last, put your clock radio on a stable surface. You might want a gadget that has an adjustable camera inside, so that the camera can be moved while the clock radio remains in a stable position. If you can, glue the radio to the surface. Keep the clock radio with a hidden camera lodged between heavy articles such as books, so that your nanny will not be tempted to move it.

These are only a few suggestions that you can use as you install your clock radio hidden camera to monitor your nanny. You cannot trust your child to anyone, so make sure that the person you have at home with you is the most trustworthy one that you can find.

The Best Uses for Your Air Purifier Nanny Camera

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

A nanny camera installed in an air purifier can help you monitor your nanny’s activities. You can use it best by cleaning the air purifier constantly, getting a camera with good audio, and buying an adjustable camera.

air purifier hidden cameraHow well can you trust your child to a nanny? You might not have enough trust in a nanny who comes to your door dressed poorly, has little or no reaction to anything that you say, or refuses to listen to you when you scold her. All the same, you cannot simply trust a nanny who comes to your door well dressed and is attentive to you, simply because people can put up a front that can fool you no matter how smart or rich you are.

One way for you to monitor your nanny is to use a hidden camera. One such hidden camera can come with an air purifier attached. This is a place that is not too obvious, and at the same time not likely to be touched by your nanny. This is especially true if you will follow the top 3 best uses below, which should guide you in best using an air purifier nanny camera and capturing the real nanny behind the front shown to you.

First, keep the air purifier clean and always remind your nanny that you have already cleaned out the decontaminating agent. First, if the air purifier is obviously clean, your nanny will not voluntarily try to clean it and therefore uncover the hidden camera. Second, if you have told your nanny that the air purification system has already been cleaned, then your nanny is less liable to touch it and disrupt the camera. Third, you will be less likely to ruin the camera because of a dirty air purifier. Remember, even if a hidden camera is built to withstand dirt and grime, this gives you no excuse to actually place it in the middle of dirt and grime and ruin the electric circuits that allow it to run.

Second, get an air purifier hidden camera with good audio. If the audio is not good enough, it can pick up even the noise of the air purifier and ruin your camera feed. You may also want to get a camera that can operate noiselessly so that you do not end up alerting your nanny to the presence of a hidden camera.

Third, get a hidden camera that can be adjusted. Your air purifier can block out certain angles that may not allow you to monitor your nanny most effectively. By getting an adjustable camera, you might be able to monitor different areas of the room at once. For best results, you might need to get more than one nanny camera so that you can monitor multiple areas of your room at once.

These are only three of the best ways that you can monitor your nanny using an air purifier hidden camera. For more information, talk to your security retailer. Get a good camera that does not force you to blow your budget. This way, you can have your camera last for a far longer time.

The Most Effective Uses for a Child Guard Monitor

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

A child guard monitor can allow you to keep watch on your child. Always adjust for smaller distances, listen closely for the beeping, and constantly check that batteries are fully charged.

child guard monitorHave you ever been at the park with your child, and then worried because your child suddenly wandered off when you were looking away for only a few seconds? Have you ever hiked and then called the police or searched frantically for your child only because you weren’t able to watch your child for just one moment? These are usual scenarios that many parents face and that even more parents dread. You may need to use a child guard monitor that will help you track your child.

A child guard monitor is a child safety device that you will place on your child for your child to wear. The child guard monitor emits a signal to a receiver, which you will hold. This constantly transmitted signal is designed to allow you to keep track of your child even when you are not looking. You can also adjust the signal. For some models, you can keep track of your child from a distance of as short as three feet; and as far away as over twenty feet. If your child goes beyond the set distance that you are keeping track of your child, the receiver will start beeping, letting you know that your child is out of distance and should therefore be searched for. A good way is to keep the distance low so that you don’t have too wide a radius to search.

Second, if there is more than one adult using the child guard monitor within the same area, the transmitted signal will be adjusted accordingly so that no cross-signaling occurs. This will allow you to monitor your child even in heavily crowded areas. In this case, keep your receiver close by, since the noise may drown out beeping that will alert you on your child’s location.

The child guard monitor is not immediately obvious: it will often be designed to look like a harmless toy, which you can clip to your child, conceal under your child’s sweater or shirt, or even attach to a stroller. Many of the models now available will also have adjustable distances so that you can keep a very close watch on your child, or allow your child a wider berth for enjoying his or her surroundings.

Third, and last, if you do decide to buy a child guard monitor, make sure that you constantly check that the batteries are fully charged. These are only a few features of child guard monitors that are now available on the market. For more information, talk to your security experts and retailers.

Self-Defense Benefits of Female Voice Changer

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Homes may be our most sacred place, but burglars and other criminals won’t care about this. If they wish to invade the sanctity of your home, they’ll do so. The only way to deter them right from the start is to let them know – or at least think – that your home won’t be as easy a target as they think.

voice changerOutsmart Attackers with Female Voice Changer
Physically speaking, women may be the weaker sex. It’s why attackers of all kinds tend to prefer to attack homes with female members, especially if they happen to be alone. You can, however, outsmart them and make them think twice about attacking your home with a female voice changer.

Pretend that You Are Not Alone
Use the female voice changer to adapt different voices when answering the phone. This will make your attackers think that you are not alone in the house and have more than one person with you.

Fool Would-Be Stalkers

Women are more likely to be targeted by stalkers than men. The whys and how’s don’t matter. What you should be concerned about is preventing your stalkers from contacting you. If a stranger is calling you, use the female voice changer and convince them that they have the wrong number.

Discourage Prank Callers
Prank callers and other people who harass you through phone calls may also be discouraged from repeating such undesirable acts with your female voice changer. If you warn them off using your own voice, they might not take you seriously. But if you use a different voice and speak to them in a more threatening fashion, that could make them think twice about calling you again.

Remember to Be Consistent

The female voice changer will be more effective in keeping you safe if you remember to be consistent. If you use a particular voice with a particular person for a particular reason, remember to do the same if that person calls again.

Try creating a credible persona and schedule for the various voices you use with the female voice changer. A male adult who’s with you even during working hours should be someone who may be currently vacationing at your home and one who works at night.

Charge!
Finally, be sure that your female voice charger is fully charged or plugged to the socket. Your secret will be out if your female voice changer suddenly loses power and reveal your true voice. Don’t wait for that to happen!

Grab Bar Shower – A Must-Have Safety Device in the Bathroom

Monday, August 17th, 2009

safety grip handleProviding grab bars for your showers are essential if you want everyone to have a safer time inside the bathroom.

Who Benefits from the Use of Grab Bars?
Originally, grab bars for showers are designed to provide stability and support for the disabled if and when they find themselves using the bathroom alone for any reason. Time, however, has proven that grab bars for showers may also be used to provide similar support for children. Grab bars can also save you from a painful and potentially serious injury if you find yourself sliding because of a slippery floor.

Types of Grab Bars for Showers
Choosing the right grab bar for your shower will depend not only on your preferences and needs but also on the dimensions of your shower or bathroom.

Straight Grab Bars

They’re the simplest to use and may be installed vertically or horizontally. Installing a pair of them, with one at each side of your shower or bath tub will give you all the support you need as you step out.

L-Shaped Grab Bars
These are best used in the inside corners of bathroom or shower walls and stalls. They provide better grip than straight grab bars.

Reversible Inside Corner Grab Bars
ADA guidelines require the use of reversible inside corner grab bars for showers or bathing areas that are accessible by wheelchair. Accidents of all sorts can happen when wheelchairs and water are mixed together, no matter how careful you may be. Grab bars, however, can help minimize your chances of getting injured.

U-Shaped Grab Bars
Roll-in showers are designed to allow individuals to be seated at shower chairs in a roll, rather than being transferred or carried to their seats. Such showers will benefit from the use of U-shaped grab bars.

Hinged or Folding Grab Bars for Toilet Rails
This type of grab bar can be folded out of the way when not in use and pulled out just as easily if you need additional support. Only one end of these grab bars are attached to the wall.

Bath Safety Grab Bars
Lastly, we have the bath safety grab bars. While their design may seem too fussy, they’re actually very innovative and utilizes locking and pivoting technology. Bath safety grab bars are reversible and versatile as they can be installed not only at your shower but the toilet area as well. They are water-resistant, may come with a bath board, and are remarkably easy to install.
