Thanks, Admin. Let me clarify my statement a bit. I own a five year old Taser X26C. As soon as I let go of the trigger, will the paralyzing shock stop? If yes, then I can't really use that as a way to escape the situation.

I can test this on myself, but if you already know, it would save me the cost of the cartridge...

Curious George, you can turn off the Taser device just as easily as turning it on. If you don't want or need the whole 30 seconds, you don't have to leave it on.

Admin or Tammy,

I'm a bit confused. If Tasers automatically (e.g. you can drop the device and escape) deliver 30 seconds of paralyzing shock, how did the officer stop the Taser after just a few seconds for each of these participants?

Great article. What some people don't understand about a TASER from the video, is that you are not being hit with the full 30 seconds the TASER will give someone if used the right way. The C2 locks up all your muscles and you just can't move the whole time it is dumping the 50,000 volts into your muscles and disrupts all the signals that the the brain send to them. TASER has it down packed with there line of Electronic control devices and I stand behind them with their products.

The TASER is a very poor self defense tool. It is a device intended to allow law enforcement to subdue someone and take them into custody without having to club them into submission. Unless your self defense plan involves taking a prisoner, you are better off with something else.

Greg, I'm not aware of any consideration for metal implants nor on the size of the individual. We all knew it was coming; I think that some didn't think it would be as bad as it really is. Where a stun gun is localized, the taser device overpowers your entire body.

Merry Christmas!

Nice video. Better than caffeine eh!?! Any info on the effects to persons having surgical metal implants in their body? I notice you give your approx. height and weight. Always thaought you were taller. ;0) Is there a difference in reaction to being tased in relation to the physical size of the subject? Seems that the bigger subjects in the extended video, both male and female, were the ones that made greater haste in crying "no mas". I'm also curious as to how the sensation compares to a 625K stun gun. That's the largest device I've ever tried on myself. And BTW Merry Christmas Bro!!!

Updated the video to include more of the taser footage. You can see more people on the receiving end of the demonstration.

When I was tased, I couldn't move. I was just enduring, waiting for it to be over. No, I didn't go to my knees, but I couldn't do anything else either. That's the point, it prevents you from do anything.

In actual use, you would employ the Taser and then set it down while you get away. The person getting tased will get shocked for a full 30 seconds while you make your escape. I only got it for 8 seconds during the test/demonstration.

8 seconds was plenty enough to know without a doubt that this device is effective.
