Law enforcement are people too and people don't always make the best decisions in every situation. It would be nice to see a site dedicated to highlighting the ongoing positive impact that this technology has provided our society. Private citizens can also purchase and carry several different civilian versions of the Taser. The Taser C2, Taser M18L, and Taser X26C can all be purchased by law abiding citizens and have similar effectiveness in stopping a threat as the law enforcement models. The main difference is that the civilian model can only fire up to 15 feet away; where the law model will shoot up to 35 feet away. Taser products are not cheap; costing as much as a lower priced hand gun. Tasers are a much safer alternative to owning a firearm and less likely to cause serious injury to family members. The civilian model Taser C2 retails for $300 - $350; without or with a laser sight. Many dealers offer packages at that price that make it a little less palatable for the consumer.
